The Californian brand SUPER73 is adding a whole new family of electric fatbikes to its French catalog: the Adventure range, made up of three models ranging between 3599 euros and 5399 euros.

On the cycle paths of France, and especially in Paris, it is not uncommon to come across electric fatbikes. Immediately, their design challenges and puzzles. Their particularity? Extra wide tires, which give them a very aggressive look. It almost looks as if the user is not sitting on a electric bikebut on a small off-road scooter.

The pronounced width of their tires has several advantages. First, grip is much better thanks to a larger than average ground contact surface. Second, vibrations are generally much better smoothed out, improving in fact the overall comfort of the bike.

Front suspension

Finally, those who wish to venture into more technical terrain can also have fun. And among the key players to be mentioned in the electric fatbike segment, the name of SUPER73 sounds obvious. This Californian company, already present on the French market, is now adding a whole new range to its offer.

Here is the SUPER73 Adventure Series, made up of three models: the SUPER73 Z Adventure, SUPER73 S Adventure and SUPER73 R Adventure. This trio shares several technical characteristics, starting with their 20-inch SUPER73 GRZLY tires, which are necessarily impressively wide at 4.5 inches in the front and 5 inches in the rear.

torque sensor, eight-speed transmission, aluminum frame, hydraulic disc brakes, four assistance modes, mudguards, headlight: all these same components are integrated into the three models. Unfortunately, the press release sent to the editorial staff does not give any details as to their nature, origin, brand and range.

Designed for the outdoors first and foremost, the SUPER73 Adventure seek to reinforce their adventurous side with a suspension fork. Again, neither the model nor the travel are specified. The SUPER73 Z claims a range of 40 to 80 km depending on the assistance mode used.

Located under the saddle, the 615 Wh battery still recharges in 6 to 7 hours. Its great capacity logically betrays a substantial overall weight, of 33.5 kg in total. It would have been interesting to know the torque of the motor to evaluate the velocity of the model during pick-ups and starts from a standstill. This is unfortunately not the case.

The SUPER73 Z Adventure is available in Panthro Blue, Sandstorm, Corsetti and Snowshadow colors, at a price of 3599 euros.

A longer saddle for the S

The SUPER73 S Adventure is moving upmarket: its range is greater, between 65 and 120 km depending on the mode used, thanks to a much more generous battery (960 Wh). The latter is also placed on the diagonal tube of the frame, which would give the bike better handling, assures the American brand.

Another differentiating point: its more elongated saddle, capable of accommodating a passenger in the back. All these small improvements have an impact on its weight, which climbs to 36 kg. The SUPER73 S Adventure has the same colors as its little brother, but not the same price: 4399 euros in total.

The SUPER73 R Adventure comes to close the debates: it is the most top-of-the-range of the three, thanks to its rear and front suspension… adjustable. This should give it excellent comfort for any user looking to walk on beaten paths or in the forest. The weight again goes up a notch, 41 kg.

Autonomy, battery and colors are the same as the SUPER73 S Adventure. All for the total sum of 5399 euros.
