The most affected areas have been Alcobendas, San Sebastián de los Reyes and the Corredor del Henares. The interventions have been fundamentally related to roadway flooding and tree damage by hail storms, without significant personal or material damage.
In the zone of Barajas and Alameda de Osuna, In the capital, a strong hail storm caused some flooding and pools of water on roads, as well as some branches falling without causing damage. The hailstorm reached the Adolfo Suarez Airport and their tracks, which were stained white for several minutes.

Orange alert in the mountains, yellow in the rest
The Community of Madrid has activated the orange level in the sierra, where an accumulated precipitation of 80 liters per square meter, locally 100 liters, is expected in 12 hours; in the rest of the region the yellow alert is active (risk) due to storms, sometimes with hail, and due to rains that will leave between 40 and 50 liters in 12 hours.
Madrid City Council has activated the Municipal Flood Action Plan (Painunam), in its initial alert and monitoring phase, due to the warning of heavy rains and storms until this Friday afternoon.
Given this forecast of rains and in case of floods, it is recommended that citizens avoid trying to cross flooded areas; leave the vehicles if they get stuck, the water prevents them from opening the doors or exceeds the axles of the wheels; prioritize highways and avoid rivers, streams and low areas in case of having to inevitably use the car; keep the gutters and drains of the house clean, and, if it floods, leave the ground floors and cut off the electricity.
We leave you with some recommendations on how to act in the event of heavy rain episodes and the link to the Flood Action Plan (PAINUNAM), with more advice and information. https://t.co/J7YHKWw5Tv@MADRID pic.twitter.com/vVnQ9fWlkL
