Is Palani Murugan the god for the announcement of suspended darshan to be implemented soon in Palani temple? Hindu organizations have protested by questioning whether it is a corporate entity.

The number of devotees from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and other states and abroad to visit Swamy is increasing day by day. Also, 10 rupees and 100 rupees fee darshan routes have already been established for the convenience of devotees such as important dignitaries, senior citizens above 60 years of age and mothers with infants can easily have darshan of Sami.

2023 and 2024 Annual Notification No. 85 in the Legislature has announced that daily break darshan facility for one hour will be established in temples which are visited by devotees in large numbers.

Accordingly, in order to implement the legislative notification, important dignitaries who visit Palani Arulmiku Dandayuthapani Swami temple for quick darshan daily from 3 pm to 4 pm will be given the following Tamil birth dates, Chitra Poornami, Agni Nakshatra, Vaikasi Visagam, Kanda Shashti, English year birth, Tai From 1st to 5th, 44 festivals including Thaipusa festival, Panguni Uthiram festival, monthly Karthikai and excluding special days will be introduced for devotees to pause darshan at a fee of Rs 300 per ticket.

It is also mentioned that the devotees participating in the pause darshan will be given one panchamirtha, coconut, fruit, vibhuti and a yellow bag. It has been revealed that the norms will be brought and implemented as to who will be given this pause darshan.

The temple administration has also issued a notice that if the devotees have their objections and suggestions regarding the new notification, they are requested to send them in writing to the Joint Commissioner, Executive Officer, Arulmiku Thandayuthapani Swami Thirukovil, Palani in person or by post by 16/06/23 next month.

Through this, arrangements have been made so that devotees from out of town and foreign countries can have darshan quickly without waiting in queues and if there is any objection or suggestion, a notice board has been placed in the temple office to inform them.

in this situation, Vishwa Hindu Paris administrator Senthil Kumar said:-

“If this scheme is introduced when there is a normal three-hour wait for darshan on Saturdays and Sundays, more devotees will have to wait. Even if the devotees who are already doing public darshan while waiting underground, even if they suffer from breathlessness while waiting underground, the Palani temple does not even have a ventilator facility to treat them. People are dying”.

“Why is the government saying that they are changing Palani like Tirupati like the Sabarimala temple in Kerala and why should they come up with a free darshan program like the Guruvayur temple? Is Palani Murugan God? or a corporate entity,” he questioned. He has also requested the government to withdraw this scheme.
