Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a public sector company, plans to launch a national program to promote eco-friendly cooking. As part of this scheme, the central government will provide induction stoves and induction pressure cookers at low cost to the people.

Many reports say that even though all villages in India have access to electricity, there are still difficulties in gas cylinder distribution in some areas. According to government sources, this new scheme is being launched to solve this problem.

The central government is going to provide induction stoves and induction pressure cookers at a discount of 20% to 30% to the people living in rural areas. Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has been responsible for many projects to promote energy efficiency in our country. The company has been responsible for many innovative projects such as distribution of LED bulbs, installation of smart meters in homes and construction of energy efficient buildings. It is through such innovative schemes that the Indian government has successfully reduced its annual electricity consumption to 52 trillion units.

Apart from that, India has reduced its annual electricity demand by 11,200 MW and carbon emissions by 4.55 tonnes. EESL is known as the world’s largest energy efficiency services company with its presence in lighting, buildings, electric vehicle, smart meters, agriculture etc. No other company in the energy sector has achieved this feat before.

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) started in the year 2009 is a joint venture. EESL is a joint venture of four prominent PSUs namely NTPTC, Power Grid Corporation, Power Finance Corporation and REC Limited. All this is possible with the support of the Indian Energy Department.
