Former Chief Minister of Puducherry Narayanasamy today shared with the media about the political situation in Puducherry.

Has income increased in India?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman have been saying that India’s income is increasing, employment has been created and inflation has come down. This is completely untrue, he said. Today inflation has increased and the number of people below the income line has increased.

He said that Prime Minister Modi is deceiving the people by claiming that he is taking the country on the path of development. Lately the political parties and people of southern states have been fighting against the imposition of Hindi. Hindi has been imposed in all sectors after the BJP came to power at the centre. Home Ministry has directed that central government files should be in Hindi only.

Puducherry will always resist Hindi imposition

He said that the central government has ordered that the central government exams should be written in Hindi, and by such actions, the imposition of Hindi by the central government is obvious. He said that we are not against Hindi and we cannot accept imposition of Hindi. He said that Congress party is completely against imposition of Hindi and we will not accept imposition of Hindi at any time in Puducherry and we will stop it even if we hold protests.

Speaking further, former Chief Minister Narayanasamy said that Lt Governor Tamilisai had sent him a letter for what he had said about Lt Governor meeting the public. Narayanasamy said that he said that the lieutenant governor has no authority to arbitrarily appeal to the public and he should avoid that.

Lieutenant Governor has no power

When a case was filed in the court regarding Kiranbedi’s arbitrariness in the previous Congress regime, the lieutenant governor had no authority to act arbitrarily and the lieutenant governor should abide by the decision taken by the cabinet.

The High Court said that if there is a difference of opinion between the Lieutenant Governor and the Cabinet, the Ministry of Home Affairs should intervene and resolve it. He informed that the order of the High Court is going to be sent to the Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai and requested that the Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Chelandararajan should follow it.

Power sector employees are protesting

Also, accepting the government’s request, the power sector employees have suspended their protest till Diwali, so the state government’s stand on the power sector issue should be clarified.

He questioned what is the need for it in Puducherry when other states are opposing the privatization of power sector. Narayanasamy asked the government to immediately abandon the decision to privatize the power sector and seek the views of all political parties and the public.

No precautions were taken

Puducherry has not yet taken any measures to deal with the monsoon. Even the disaster management meeting was not convened. He also alleged that no precautionary measures were taken.

Talking about the current chaotic governance in Puducherry, he said that Puducherry Chief Minister Rangasamy Dummy is acting as the Chief Minister. Now people also realize that Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Selandararajan is acting as Super Chief Minister. So he said that this regime will be overthrown soon.
